My name is Garegin Babloyan

I was born in Yerevan in 1956. Graduated from school named after Checkov in 1973 and entered Yerevan State Medical Institute, which graduated in 1979 in honors degree.

From 1979 to 1981 I have been a resident at Yerevan branch of All-Soviet Union Scientific Center of Surgery, Department of General Surgery. From 1981 to 1984 I have been a resident at Moscow Cardiovascular Surgery Institute named after A.V. Bakulev with a specialization in Vascular Surgery under supervision of prominent surgeon and academician A.V. Pokrovsky, whom I consider to be my teacher hoping he does not disagree.

In 1984 I successfully submitted my PhD dissertation devoted to renoportal venous anastomosis with contralateral adrenalectomy in treatment of severe hypertension.

From 1985 to 1990 I have been working in Yerevan branch of All-Soviet Union Scientific Center of Surgery in vascular department at various positions, the last of which was senior scientific surgeon.

From 1990 to 1991 I had an opportunity to pass a one-year training course as a post doctoral fellowship with a specialization of plastic and reconstructive surgery at Yale University, New Haven, CT, USA. During a year of work under the guidance of outstanding surgeons (Prof. S. Aryan, Z.Chicarelli, R.Stahl and others) I gained a background education in a new specialty for me.

On my return to Armenia in 1992 I have been chief of plastic and vascular surgery department in different medical establishments of Yerevan, as well I have been an associate professor at Yerevan State Medical University. Science 2011 I’m the director of medical center Vik-Med (a private clinic).

Currently I perform all kinds of esthetic operations. Also in the field of my interests are head and neck tumors (this are tumors of soft tissue, oral cavity, salivary glands, thyroid gland, congenital anomalies). Complexity of performing these operations are not only in removing of tumors but also immediate reconstruction of defect. The important areas of my work are surgical treatment, different kinds of vascular malformations. I gained a lot of experience in surgical treatment of this pathology (in some cases unique). Also in our clinics we do all kinds of operations in tendons peripheral nerves and venous system.
